Who’s the richest former Destiny’s Child member? Net worths, ranked – the Grammy award-winning girl group disbanded in 2006, so how do Kelly Rowland’s millions stack up against Beyoncé’s today?

Beyoncé is undoubtedly one of the most popular singers of our time, but let’s not forget how she got to where she is today. Before becoming a Grammy award-winning superstar, Beyoncé was part of one of the biggest girl groups of all time – Destiny’s Child.

Initially formed by a group of childhood friends in Austin, Texas, and managed by Beyoncé’s dad Matthew Knowles, the band became famous for hits like “Say My Name”, “Bootylicious” and “Survivor”.

Throughout the years, the group underwent various transformations due to tensions and terminations, before eventually calling it quits in 2006. While all former members eventually went solo to varying success, it was of course Queen Bey that became the band’s breakout star and biggest earner.

After wrapping up her mega stadium Renaissance World Tour in October, Beyoncé invited four of her former Destiny’s Child bandmates to reunite at the Los Angeles stop of her Renaissance World Tour Concert film premiere in November. Proving all past drama is water under the bridge, the ladies met up backstage where they exchanged hugs and shared pictures on social media. The rare moment together even sparked the #DC5 hashtag, with fans begging for a five-piece Destiny’s Child project on social media.

So after all these years, how do the ladies of Destiny’s Child’s fortunes stack up in 2024, according to Celebrity Net Worth?

7. Farrah Franklin, 42 – US$200,000

Blink and you would’ve missed her, but Farah Franklin was indeed a member of the band for six months during their most tumultuous period in 2000. After Roberson and Luckett got fired from the band, Franklin was invited in alongside Williams. She appeared in music videos for “Jumpin’, Jumpin” and “Say My Name”, but left shortly afterwards reportedly due to issues with Matthew Knowles’ management. Since then she’s kept relatively low key, with a few solo career launch attempts over the years.

6. LaTavia Roberson, 42 – US$500,000

Roberson was a part of the group from 1997 to 2000. After her departure from the band, Roberson – along with former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett – briefly formed the girl group Anjel, but the project never took off. Since then, Roberson has starred in various stage productions like Those Jeans, How to Love and Not My Family, and became a full-time cast member on R&B Divas: Atlanta in 2014.

Similar to Roberson, she was also a part of the group from 1997 to 2000. While she might not be as famous as the likes of Beyoncé, Kelly or Michelle, Luckett has continued to work in the entertainment industry after her departure from the band. She’s released three solo albums over the years, appeared in a long list of made-for-TV films, and is a regular in TV series like Black Love and Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

4. Solange Knowles, 37 – US$9 million

OK, so Solange was never officially a member of Destiny’s Child, but Beyoncé’s little sister certainly deserves a spot on this list. Now a respected recording artist in her own right, Solange once replaced Kelly for a show when she got injured, performed as a dancer for the band on tour, wrote songs for them, collaborated with them and famously appeared in their “Soldier” music video. Last year, her dad Matthew revealed that Solange was offered a spot in the band, but opted to carve her own path instead, per NME.

3. Michelle Williams, 44 – US$10 million

Williams was with the group from 2000 to 2004. Following the demise of the band, Williams kept relatively low profile compared to Knowles and Rowland. She released a couple of gospel solo albums, appeared in Broadway musicals like Aida, Chicago and Jesus Christ Superstar, and performed on The Masked Singer in the US and Australia. In recent years, Williams has been open about her struggles with mental health, releasing a 2021 book called Checking In: How Getting Real About Depression Saved My Life – and Can Save Yours.

2. Kelly Rowland, 42 – US$12 million

“Kelly, can you handle it?” With a net worth of a cool US$12 million, she certainly can. From 1997 to 2006, she was a fixture of the girl group and as Beyoncé’s bestie, Rowland has carved a successful solo career for her herself over the years, releasing hits like “When Love Takes Over” with David Guetta and “Dilemma” with Nelly. These days she’s a reality TV regular, appearing as a judge on talent shows like The X-Factor US, The X-Factor UK and The Voice Australia.

As one of the biggest artists of our generation, it’s no secret that Beyoncé is a wealthy woman. But her net worth recently shot up significantly following the success of her latest world tour. This year, her Renaissance World Tour made more than half a billion dollars, Live Nation revealed in October.

Of course, much like the DC song “Independent Women”, Knowles has worked hard for her own money, but it’s worth noting that along with hubby Jay-Z’s net worth of US$2.5 billion, the couple are now worth a combined fortune of around US$3.3 billion. Not bad for someone who became famous asking who was going to pay her “Bills, Bills, Bills”.
