Lowe’s tapped Margi Vagell as its EVP of supply chain, effective March 1, according to a Jan. 12 announcement.

Vagell has nearly 20 years of experience and has held several senior leadership roles at Lowe’s, such as SVP and general merchandising manager for hardlines and home decor, SVP of store merchandising and VP, CCO of operations, according to Lowe’s.
Prior to Lowe’s, Vagell served as director of merchandise and marketing for eFashion Solutions and director of merchandising operations for Victoria’s Secret Direct.
“Margi has extensive home improvement experience and, as a general merchandising manager, has partnered closely with our supply chain teams to develop our market delivery network, outline our omnichannel capabilities and ensure products are available at the right times in the right places for our customers,” Marvin Ellison, Lowe’s chairman and CEO, said in the release.
Vagell succeeds Don Frieson, who served as EVP in 2018 and plans to retire on April 1.
Frieson engineered the transformation of the retailer’s supply chain by championing investment to modernize its logistics, transportation and delivery systems. according to the company.
During the pandemic, Lowe’s faced supply chain pressure due to increased demand and reduced inventory flows. In response, the company expanded its logistics facility footprint and launched a new delivery model where big and bulky products skip stores entirely when shipping to a customer.
“[Frieson] drove the strategic build-out of our market delivery network, revamped our Command Center for quicker and more effective disaster response, and successfully navigated the global supply chain crisis during the pandemic,” the CEO said.
