Free Coffee at Wawa’s 60th Anniversary Celebration

Wawa, the convenience store chain, is marking its 60th anniversary with a special treat for coffee consumers. On Tuesday, April 16, customers can enjoy a free cup of coffee of any size to celebrate the milestone.

Since its inception 60 years ago, Wawa has become known for its hot coffee, a favorite morning pick-me-up for many. In honor of this significant anniversary, Wawa plans to give away 1.5 million cups of coffee to its customers across its stores.

In addition to the free coffee, customers may also notice a touch of nostalgia during their visit. Wawa will be serving the complimentary coffee in their vintage cups and wrapping hoagies in retro hoagie paper, paying homage to the company’s humble beginnings.

Wawa is an East Coast-based chain of convenience stores and gas stations, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. Originating from Wawa, Pennsylvania, the name comes from an Ojibwe word meaning “wild goose,” reflected in its logo. The company is privately owned with over 200 years of history and operates 1,032 stores across Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. In the past, Wawa had locations in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut, but these were abandoned in the 1990s.

According to ScrapeHero, there are currently 1,050 Wawa locations in the United States, and the company plans to open more stores in the future. While Wawa offers standard convenience store items like snacks and drinks, it is particularly known for its expansive food options, including big hoagie-style sandwiches that customers can order via touch screen.

If you’re a fan of Wawa’s coffee or just looking to start your day with a free caffeine boost, be sure to stop by a Wawa store on April 16. Enjoy a cup of coffee in any size on the house and join in the celebration of Wawa’s 60 years of serving customers with convenience and quality.
