As Earth Day arrives, the UK firm Buro Happold has shared the sustainable projects that they have been involved in, highlighting efforts to create a more sustainable world.

AlUla Framework Plan

In collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla, they have worked on a sustainable development plan for AlUla in Saudi Arabia. The plan focuses on preserving the area’s cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism and aligning with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Bentway Leckie-Lake Shore Triangle (LLT) Staging Grounds

Buro Happold transformed a neglected area beneath a highway in Canada into a public space. The project features innovative stormwater management solutions and educational elements about climate change and biodiversity.

Green Planet Dubai

The Green Planet Dubai bio-dome houses a tropical rainforest with over 3,000 plant and animal species. The facility aims to educate visitors about the importance of preserving ecosystems and has surpassed Dubai’s green building standards.

GMCA Building Energy Decarbonisation Plans

The British firm has provided sustainability consultancy to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to help achieve net-zero carbon operations by 2038. The firm conducted energy surveys for buildings across Greater Manchester and developed decarbonization plans.

Mayfield Regeneration and Millbrook Park
